As you know, our youth centres have sadly, been closed since before Easter due to restrictions resulting from the Covid-19 virus. We now find ourselves in the position of trying to re-open which we hope to do on the 15th of September. We are looking forward to being able to see the young people again and offer activities at the centre.
What you need to do:
Log on to our booking system here where tickets for sessions can be booked. Please go onto the system to book for the first sessions for week beginning 14th of Sep, this will help us to gauge demand and we will add subsequent weeks for booking after the first week when we have a clearer understanding of demand. You can find out more information about the sessions and get updates as they are made. Anyone trying to attend without booking a place will not be allowed to enter the building.
Whilst we cannot guarantee that the building is risk free, we are doing our upmost to mitigate risk to all those using the building. There are several changes that we have made to protect young people and staff, which you need to be aware of so that we can open back up. Anyone entering the building will be expected to follow all health and safety guidance laid out by staff. Failure to do so or putting others at risk will be treated with a zero-tolerance approach. The following measures will be in place until we are told otherwise by Achieving for Children:
-
All young people and staff will have their temperature taken upon entry to session and anybody with a high temp will be sent home. Any young person with any symptom of Covid must NOT attend sessions.
-
Should a member of staff or young person show symptoms of Covid we will be forced to close the centre, should the staff member or young person contract Covid we will be forced to close the centre for two weeks.
-
Several areas of the building will be closed for the foreseeable future, including the Art room, music studio, computer room and kitchen. On top of this we will not be able to offer any food or drink to young people during the session.
-
We will be providing sanitiser stations throughout the building and young people. We will also expect young people to wash their hand regularly and will give time after sessions to do this.
-
Whilst we are not enforcing face coverings, but we would welcome young people choosing to wear face coverings. We will be keeping a watch on government guidance and any changes to policy around face coverings in schools will also be adopted at the centre.
-
We will be shortening some sessions, offering two 45-minute sessions instead of the standard session length. They will take place over the usual session times on the normal days of opperation.
-
We are restricted to a maximum of 10 young people pre session. Young people cannot book onto both sessions on the same day.
Thank you for bearing with us over this challenging time. We are really looking forward seeing the young people back at club and hope that we can have a lot of fun together despite the new changes.
