Oxygen-ation: Oxygen grant award posted 15 03 06

Local Christian Youthwork charity Oxygen has just been given a grant by the Foundation for the Sports and Arts to provide after-school activities for disaffected and potentially excluded children in Kingston.

The money will work alongside Oxygen’s successful Urban Nights project that sees youthworkers engaging with young people who hang around the streets of New Malden, Surbiton and Tolworth in the evenings.

Speaking about the award Oxygen director Richard James said,

“The Urban Nights Project sees us meeting some of the young people who are deemed the most anti social in the Borough. Through this award from of the Foundation for the Sports and Art we will be able to run a series of activities to give them something positive to engage with”

Anyone wishing to know more about the Urban Nights project or Oxygen in general should contact Richard James on 020 8547 0566 or email richard@oxygen-online.org
