24-7 Prayer Room makes a powerhouse
We are excited to be able to announce that from 28th April 2007 we will be having 4 weeks of 24/7 prayer. The chapel at the YMCA in Surbiton has been given for the purpose. The room will be organised to encourage prayer and will include hot and cold drinks for comfort. We hope to cover 24 hours per day and as the YMCA has 24 hour staffing, praying in the early hours will be peaceful and safe.
How do you get involved?
Each day will be broken down into hour slots (you can do more or less than an hour). You can book in online via http://oxygen-online.org/signup/247or call in to book a slot or fill in the rota at the YMCA, the online booking and prayer room rota will be updated daily.
What if you want to pray on your own?
We will have a system in place that will enable you to book a private slot for prayer for you to draw close to God on your own or as a prayer group, we would encourage you to meet at the YMCA to have your normal prayer meeting. As the YMCA is open for people to walk in and prayer, we may find people being drawn to pray with us, what a blessing. Let this be a house of prayer for the month.
What will you pray for?
There will be lots of prayer pointers around the room and we expect that the people who come to prayer will bring their own items to pray for and we will all join in that prayer, so on the walls we will put paper on which prayer requests can be made and answers to pray can be recorded, the possibilities are endless.
Do we need any help?
Yes, we need you to let others know that this is happening, pass on the news. We also need 14 people to volunteer to be in charge of 2 days per month to look after the room, if you want to know more please let me know, Paul Jacobs 02083909116, and I will explain the role of room host. And lastly, get excited, Really excited by what God could do in this month of prayer.
