oxygenate

Oxygenate is our way of trying to change the world around us, trying to make it a little but better and a little bit more like God wanted it. We believe that we are stewards on this earth, with a charge from God to ensure that we look after his property and his creation.
Oxygenate actually comprises several ways in which we try to do this. They are
e-action
With the rise of the internet and the global society e-campaigning is the name of the game. Young people above all else are used to exsiting in a cyber world where interactions are largely electronic.
Into this world comes the idea of e-action, trying to change the world through the way that we surf the web. We want to encourage you to visit , bookmark and respond to some of the best action websites around, whilst thinking about setting up your own campaign site.

On each of these sites you can learn more about changing the real world through the virtual world.
Random Acts of Kindness
Just about every school holidays Oxygen workers and volunteers can be found out and about on the streets and parks of Kingston Borough doing something completely random. Usually this involves a girls versus boys challenge of who can be the most kind to the most people in the smallest amount of time. A small budget is allocated and teams are sent off to try and make people smile/ laugh / chortle / giggle / fall about!
Examples in the past have included selling hugs for 5p, doing a lucky dip for children, giving away flowers to young ladies and handing out Christmas cards and mince pies to strangers.
Social Action
On top of the other two we want to try and practically change the world around us so every now and then, when the need arises we respond to the practical challenge of trying to change the world around us. Whether it be through litter picks, or graffiti clean up Social Action is about seeing a need and responding, not waiting or wishing, but just doing.
