COOPERATIVE SUPPORT for Rm1

Oxygen has been awarded a grant of £1,989 from the Cooperative Foundation to support its work of Rm1 after school club.

Rm1 was launched in 2006 in response to an identified need whereby young people in years 7&8 were in need of somewhere to go at the end of the school day because for many of them their other option was returning to an empty home, or wandering the streets until parents return.  Rm1 meets this need by working in partnership with the school and the Extended School Managers to provide young people a place to study, chill and play after school.

;

Working in partnership with the YMCA, Oxygen is now in its second year of a Rm1 at Hollyfield in Surbiton and plans are being developed to it established in a third school during 2010. This grant from the Cooperative Foundation will go towards supporting the existing work, especially the young leaders programme. It will be vital in helping ensure this great work continues into another year. .

Oftsed is Voluntarily registered with Ofsted, is supported by a grant from Surestart and is endorsed by the schools in which it is based
