WHAT IS OXYGEN?

Launched in 2001, Oxygen (Kingston YFC) is a local project, started by local churches, that works in partnership with a range of local agencies. Oxygen’s vision is to give young people an opportunity to discover and follow Jesus, by serving, building relationships and relying on God.

Since that launch Oxygen has contacted over 4,500 young people from all over South West London and now meets an average of 300 young people through 60 hours of face to face relational youthwork each week. This relational youthwork is made up of eighteen weekly projects that include Urban Nites, (a detached youthwork) Rm1 (an after school club), Sanso (a Korean homework club and study support programme)., ID ( a social and self esteem skills workshops) and big events such as thevent, thecalling and thebasement. In additon Oxygen overses the work of Street Pastors Kingston and Sacred Space Kingston.

Much of  Oxygen’s work is carried out by its MIND THE GAP, year out team. The MIND THE GAP team is made up of young people who take time to learn more about themselves and more about God through a full active and interactive programme.Find out about the latest stories from Oxygen on our news page or get in touch with us here
